Calling all freelancers...

Hi all, thanks for checking in. We hope you’re surviving these wintry conditions?! We just thought we’d let you have a few Grape and Grey details on freelancing while you are continuing the hunt for your next role.
Well, it’s very simple here because life is already too complicated. Here’s how it works:
(1)    You tell us your day rate
(2)    We find you a freelance role
(3)    You meet / speak to the client
(4)    The client says, “When can you start?”
(6)    You say, “straight away”
(7)    We invoice the client a fee for introducing you to them
(8)    You invoice the client for your work
(9)    The client pays you direct (as long as you’ve done a great job)
Easy?  We think so, and so do our clients and our freelancers. Why not register with us and test the system for yourself? (We hope our simple approach brings you a little ray of sunshine!!)
On that note, if you do register your CV with us at ed@grapeandgrey.co.uk  and you’re a Designer of any description, we’d like to introduce our newest team member to you, Luke, who has just recently joined us. Luke comes from an established design recruitment background and is heading up our Design sector here at Grape and Grey. He works with a fabulous range of design agencies and clients and is networked up to the eyeballs. So, as long as you are talented and available and our clients like what they see, Luke at Grape and Grey will be your man!
That’s all for now, more news will be emerging on developments this end in the next couple of weeks.  It’s all very exciting so keep checking in so you don’t miss anything.....In the meantime, you can check us out at twitter for some of our latest jobs! http://twitter.com/ed_grapeandgrey

Candidate Recommendation Rewards

Here at Grape and Grey, we’re serious about people, it’s our job.
We also really appreciate the value of “good” recommendations from quality candidates.  Much of our business operates in this way.
With that in mind we would like to offer any registered candidate who recommends a friend to us who subsequently registers fully with us and is appointed through Grape and Grey the following rewards:
Freelance appointment: Your choice of £25 worth of either Pizza Express or iTunes vouchers
Permanent placement: Up to £500 to be paid directly to you (subject to the candidate staying with the company for a minimum of 3 months and our introduction fees having been paid)
We hope that this sounds appealing to you and that when thinking about your next career move, you may also consider those of your friends or network and put them in touch with us.
Don’t forget, your friend must let us know that they have been recommended by you in order to qualify for your reward.
Happy Networking!

Eye in the Sky

Hi, thank you for taking the time to look in on our blog…I’m guessing you’ve never heard of us before which is why you’re here, so allow me a couple of moments to introduce ourselves:

Grape & Grey Associates are a newly established digital media recruitment company….WAIT!!!!.....it gets better…. We have a wealth of experience within the media and recruitment landscapes…TRUE… The team offers a unique and select service within the core hubs of London and Brighton….ALSO TRUE!

We’re basically here to find quality candidates their next position within the industry…BUT…we are different…and won’t promise you the earth if we really think we can’t help you at this time.
Once you have applied to us, if we feel you have the combination of skills and attitude our clients are seeking, we ask you to complete your registration, in quite a detailed way and we then arrange to interview you soon afterwards to build up a bigger and more thorough picture of you and what you are looking for.
But, that’s enough about how we work for now, register your interest with us and make your own mind up about the service we offer.
OK, the blog…Our blog is really designed to keep your grey cells turning over, inspiring you, keeping you current, having fresh thoughts and ideas about the world around you and possibly (even in a microscopic way) translating some of these into ideas for the work you do or maybe just for fun…!
So, (and what better way to start a new blog?!) our focus will be clever people…(not just our opinion) but from some other clever people who thought these mind-enhanced folk rocked…We’ll be commenting on what they do, what they say and what they offer the rest of us. Some may be celebrities, others business dons, others from a chequered and / or interesting past….
What we’d like more though, is for you to share with us your thoughts on our picks of the best minds out there and see if we can’t all learn a thing or two…or is that a bit far-fetched..?! Anyway have fun…
Talk about an inspiring tale…a former student from the Cumbria College of Art and Design, now the University of Cumbria,  Mally Chung,  has gone on to be the location director on Warhorse. Among Mally’s impressive portfolio includes Quantum of Solace, Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes and so the list goes on. It just shows you, if you’ve got it, you’ve got it …as Robert Louis Stevenson once said, “Everyone who got where he is had to begin where he was.”
